I wanna say thanks, to everyone who helped me and Kotori out over the last few days, especially Kiko and Yuya. I feel super lucky we have friends who'll help us out like that when we need it and... we really needed it.
Kotori is okay. She's a little overwhelmed by everything and didn't want to face what happened at first, so we kinda hung out with Yuya a little the last few days. Just played some games, watched some movies, stuff like that, until he went back to the island yesterday. He helped out loads with carrying on straightening what he could of our living room. Kiko too. I'm super appreciative they did that so I could concentrate as much as I could on Kotori.
Kotori is slowly coming round to things though, so, we're gonna try and go by Souha's clinic today.
We were staying in a spare apartment in the main part of Sakana while waiting for the windows to be fixed, but they were fixed yesterday so we're back in our usual apartment now.
Also, thanks to those who gave or sent us gifts this last week. They were really appreciated.

*Souha. You have some visitors at your clinic! Yuma and Kotori have walked through the door and are glancing around curiously, wondering where they should go.*

[Event]
*Souha. You have some visitors at your clinic! Yuma and Kotori have walked through the door and are glancing around curiously, wondering where they should go.*
[Event]
They get up once you both walk through.*
I'm glad you were able to come. Would you like to go into the main office? I have a few questions that I need to ask.
Re: [Event]
Looking at Souha, she gives him a nod.*
Ah, yes, please.
*She looks a little apprehensive, but considering the circumstances, it was understandable.*
Re: [Event]
Alright. Let's establish this situation first, so that we all have an equal understanding.
Up until a few days ago, you have been having headaches and dizzy spells of increasing intensity. They hit their peak, and you demonstrated a strange power in response, and you fell into a trance. You eventually fell unconscious due to the display, and the power ceased.
Is this correct, so far?
Re: [Event]
Afterwards, Kotori replies with a small nod.*
Yes. That's correct.
Re: [Event]
Your headaches and dizzy spells, were likely due to your powers having awakened, but having no outlet in which to be used. They eventually became too much for you to bear, and they... *... think of a better word than "lashed".*
Burst forth, I suppose is a way to put it. It's something that can happen-- and now that we know it can happen, we can work for avoid it.
Let's start with the questions. First, have you had any blood tests, recently?
Re: [Event]
Some of the tests I had done at the hospital were blood tests.
Re: [Event]
Re: [Event]
As far as I was told, there was nothing unusual about them. Just that the tests were all negative for the things I was being tested for. No unusual imbalances for things like Iron and such.
Re: [Event]
Can you write down the name of the hospital that you had the tests taken at, as well as the physician who handled it? I'll request the results and see if there's anything I can tell, but...
... Well, moving onto that. Have your parents ever said anything that you could construe as odd, about your hereditary line?
Re: [Event]
My hereditary line?
*She shakes her head again.*
No. As far as I'm aware there is nothing odd about it. Or at least, they never mentioned anything to me.
Re: [Event]
Currently, there's only a few possibilities as to where your abilities originated. Either it's due to your family line. A possible spontaneous occurrence, or an item you might've not thought of, that would be the source of it.
Or, worst case, someone stuck an essence inside of you and you don't know about it, but if we go that route of examination, I might need to get some assistance to check. So... let's start with the simpler methods first.
Re: [Event]
Okay. That sounds like a good start.
I don't think it'd be an item causing it, but, if I think of anything with that, I'll let you know.
Would the blood tests show anything to you if it's in my family line or a spontaneous occurrence?
Re: [Event]
It sounds like the tests before were specific things-- deficiencies, ailments. I'd be looking for any signs of... There's no other way of putting this, "non-human" elements in you. If it's in the blood, then it's a high possibility of something to do with your family line.
If it's not, then we could consider it to be a fully psychic ability, which makes it harder to pin down where the source is from. When we move into that, we'll have to see if there's any foreign inside of you that isn't physical.
... Now, another question. Do you remember anything stressful happening, recently? Shortly before the headaches started, maybe.
Re: [Event]
I was a little upset and stressed over the Heartland anniversary and originally I thought the headaches were from that, but that was about it.
Re: [Event]
Sorry if this is pushing a bit, but it's good to figure out what might've triggered this before we move onto the next part: making sure you don't get overloaded again, like that.
Since it can also help us determine what your limit might be without, ah. Testing. Which I'm sure you'd probably not want to experience headaches like you did again...
Re: [Event]
There was one memory that came to her, but it seemed so insignificant. Despite that, she decided to mention it.*
Back around Halloween. I came across a vending machine. I thought it was just some kind of Halloween promotional vending machine, but when I used it, maggots started crawling out from it in masses. I ran, but the maggots kept coming out of things as I did, like they were chasing me. It was terrifying.
It didn't stop until I was about three blocks away.
I wasn't the only one who experienced a vending machine like this. A friend of ours did too and we figured it was just someone using some kind of illusion trick to play an insensitive joke on people.
To be honest, I'd forgotten all about it until now, but the headaches started a few weeks later.
Re: [Event]
You thought after the fact that it was just an illusion, but at that time, you probably felt it was real enough. At the very least, your adrenaline might've kicked in enough to trigger your abilities, but the realization that it might have just been a very convincing illusion...
I do apologize, because that does sound pretty... horrifying to have experienced. But it does give a possible time span.
Re: [Event]
Hmmm. I'm kinda curious. Why did that trigger her ability, but Heartland being attacked didn't? Do you think we're missing something there?
Re: [Event]
Can I assume at least, that you were with others when the situation with Heartland occurred, but you were alone when the situation during Halloween happened?
Re: [Event]
So you think this ability was triggered by the incident around Halloween because I was on my own then?
Re: [Event]
But if you were entirely alone with the other incident, your flight or fight instincts would get triggered. It's a natural reaction.
Re: [Event]
So, now we have a possible timeline for all this and what we think could of been the initial trigger, how do I stop getting overloaded like that again?
Re: [Event]
What do you remember about it? There were the headaches, of course, but do you remember feeling anything else?
Re: [Event]
Eventually I couldn't hold the feeling back anymore and I heard this loud deafening rush of beating wings, before I just let go...
Things are hazy after that, but I remember a sort of... intense need to hold things, move things... but I wasn't actually touching them. I don't know, everything seemed so strange and like it was a dream. I heard Yuma calling and talking to me, I knew he was there, but it was like he was really far away. I wanted to put down the things I was holding and go to him, but part of me still had the need to keep holding them, so it was like I was fighting with myself.
And I guess it was then when I passed out.
Re: [Event]
*they take out a pencil, placing it down on the desk between them.*
Alright then, the first thing is first. In order to stop from getting overloaded again, you'll need to find a way to use it before that point.
That feeling of needing to hold and move things. Can you recall that feeling, about this pencil?
Re: [Event]
Okay. I'll try.
*She fixes her gaze on the pencil, trying to remember that feeling. Of holding things, moving things, but without actually touching them.
After a moment, the pencil seems to shake slightly, before it lifts up gradually from the desk. It doesn't lift very far when Kotori gasps in surprise at the pencil moving, breaking her concentration and making the pencil fall back onto the desk.
She sits there in stunned silence for a moment.*
...I really did that.
Re: [Event]
Yes, you did.
*they get up*
I'll focus on getting your information from your physician. But until that point, there are two things you need to do, Miss Mizuki, for the longterm.
First, you'll need to do what you just did, right now, at least once a day. We have a tentative timeline for how long it takes before headaches start for you, but we don't know how much energy just that much takes.
Second, I recommend finding ways to keep your emotions in check. While I wouldn't say to do things that might suppress them, abilities like this can be tied very deeply to your emotional state. If things happen, then they happen, but you should try to keep your normal mood... Stable, I guess is the word for it.
Since it's coming up to the New Year, it might take a few days before I can get all of the information from the hospital, but I'll be able to tell you by next week if I need you to get another blood test, if that's fine.
... Otherwise, until then. Does your head feel alright, after doing that?
Re: [Event]
*She gives Souha a smile. She looks a little more relieved than she was at the beginning.*
Thank you so much, Souha-san. I'm really glad that I had someone to come to with all this, to give me advice and help and to help look into this further.
I'll make sure to use the ability a little each day and see how I go with it and I'll try my best to keep my emotions as stable as I can.
Re: [Event]
... Now, I said you have to keep your emotions stable, but I have to put down here that I will have to work out payment for services for any sessions after this. In the current case here, this was basically a consultation. I won't take a payment for basically talking, on my part.
But if we get into physical examinations, including blood examination, then my hands are somewhat tied.
Re: [Event]
That's understandable. I wouldn't expect you to do all that for free.
If it comes to us needing to do that, then I'm willing to pay.
Re: [Event]
Good. I'm glad there's an understanding there.
For now, I think we're done here. I do wish that things go smoothly as a result of this.
Re: [Event]
Thank you again, Souha-san.
*She at least seems in much better spirits after talking about this and learning a bit more.*
Re: [Event]
and good. nothing is worse like this than to be upset.*
