*Kotori and Yuma can be found sitting together in the lobby area of SAI.

Kotori had been to use one of the reinforced rooms that the organisation had in order to do training with her abilities in her demon form, with Yuma there for support and help. She had been doing this regularly once or twice a week for the last few months, but she found it always left her feeling very exhausted afterwards, so they always grabbed a drink from the vending machines and sat in the lobby for a bit until Kotori felt she was rested enough to tackle the walk home.

*Well, there's someone coming into the lobby that you both immediately recognize. He's as happy and cheery as ever.

Which is to say, he's not at all.*

*Yuma looks up as he hears someone entering into the lobby and as usual, he is not in the slightest put off by Shark's usual demeanour.
Grinning, he waves at Shark.*

Oh hey, Shark!!

*Yuma's enthusiasm almost repels Shark. But he can't leave now. Rio would kill him for ditching this.*

Tsukumo. What a surprise to see you here.

*less so to see Kotori, he guesses.*

Ah, yeah! Kotori was doing some training today so I decided to join her!

*Kotori smiles politely at Shark and gives him a small wave.*

It's really nice to see you. Are you well?

I'm doing fine enough, other than not wanting to be here. *he'll be nice enough to Kotori. Be it beyond him to act like a complete ass.* But Rio's already threatened to hide the keys to my bike if I don't go through with this.

*he sits down in a lobby chair to wait a bit, but he's sitting at an opposite wall to where Yuma and Kotori are hanging out, in a clear attempt of going "I'm not here to talk to you guys."

The effectiveness of this is up in the air.*

*Yuma glances at him curiously.*

Hm? What are you here for?

*This prompts a glare from Kotori, before she elbows him in the ribs for having a complete lack of tact. She gives Shark a look that's a little more apologetic.*

If you're comfortable telling us, that is.

*he almost smirks at Kotori elbowing Yuma, so he allows it*

It's nothing. Just that "yearly test" they recommend psychic duelists go and take in case anything changes. It's a huge hassle.

I see.

It might be a hassle, but I think it's a necessary one. It's important to make sure there isn't any changes in the ability and if there are, it keeps you and them informed.
I don't have any yearly checks, but if I notice changes I have to inform someone here and inform my specialist doctor.

I learned the hard way last year why that's important.

Sure, but your stuff only started in the last couple years, right? Least from what I could gather of what's been said.

I've been living with this far as I remember. Not that it matters.

You're right. I've only been living with my abilities for the last few years, but I guess no matter which way someone gets them or for how long, they can be difficult to manage and live with.

Other than dealing with people who overreact just because of it existing, it's not like it's been that difficult for me or Rio. It's rare something happens that actually causes concern, for me.

Man. I guess I can't really comment much on what this kinda stuff is like.

I mean. I have the whole ZEXAL thing, but that tends to be suuuuuper situational.

I'll say, I don't even know that you have that most of the time.

*... in fact, he's not even fully sure of when he found out about it... well, that's no matter, is it?*

Yeeah. Hope and I can only really do the whole ZEXAL thing under certain circumstances and I'm not even 100% sure what those are.

I can just use it when I really need too, I guess, but not any other time.

Sounds like a hassle to me. At least with what Rio and I can do, we can just do it, nothing fancy to be worried about.

Hm, it's the same with my ability. Even if I've struggled with it, it's there to use whenever I need it.
And as long as I keep things like my emotions in check, I can control it.

*She lets out a sigh.*

We were just lucky Yuma gained access to ZEXAL when he did, or neither him nor me would be here right now.

Oh man, that was years ago and it still kinda makes me shudder thinking about it.

I don't recommend being smashed into the ground repeatedly by a hell-demon that wants to eat you.

*Kotori looks at him apologetically. She didn't mean to bring up the bad memory, but he just gives her a small smile and a nod to let her know it was alright.*

*kh. he can't believe he's really humoring these two... but whatever lets him keep procrastinating on going in for this...*

Emotions seem pretty tied to this stuff. I almost clocked Kachidoki out when I dueled him because of that kinda stuff. *you're pretty sure that some would've paid to see that.

In fact you're at least half-positive that Shark would've done it if he could've gotten away with it.*

*Both of them do seem to let out a bit of a laugh at his remark about Kachidoki.*

The first thing I was told about abilities when they first surfaced was to keep a tab on my emotions.

Despite this, I've thrown Yuma into a wall.
...More than once.

He seems pretty throwable, so I can believe that.

*He pouts, but you can tell he's not really upset about the comment, as he's back to his goofy smile in a blink.*

Well, yeah... sounds like at least whatever issues you might've been having are pretty resolved, right?

Yeah. Kotori's been getting the help she needs, so things are going alright now!

Well... *Shark allows himself a small smirk, smug.* Even though I'll be at the SJL everytime that I can, I'm thinking I'll start signing up more for other tournaments around the city, and even the towns outside of here.

I think it might be better if Heartland's duelists get represented better outside of something like the SJL, don't you think?

Other tournaments, huh.

*He gives this some thought.*

Yeah, that's true! The SJL is great and all, but we'd never show our true potential sticking to just one place! Doing other tournaments is a great way to show what we're capable of!

And honestly, outside of the SJL, I kinda have a lot of free time.

Maybe you should be using that "free time" for something productive, then.

*Shark gets up*

Well, I've been putting this off long enough, anyway.

*Kotori smiles before standing up herself.*
