So hey! Long time, no see!

Kotori and I were able to go back to our apartment at Sakana! We spent quite a while hiding out at Kaikori after the whole incident at Heartland, but things are... kinda better now!

Well, we've been told to be careful when out in public for now, until some super complicated legal stuff is dealt with, but otherwise we're hoping we can get slowly get back to our regular lives.

Yeah, we're fine!

We spent our time at Kaikori just resting and stuff and we're more or less healed from our injuries, thankfully!

It was kinda frustrating not being able to contact or talk to you guys while we were there, but we didn't want to get any of you in any kind of trouble.

Wait, you also got injured? All any of us really knew was what the news was saying... and the vague message we got saying you guys were safe.

Ah yeah.

We fought some huge, war machine dragon which was trying to nuke Heartland and it took everything we had just to damage it and dunk it into the ocean before it exploded.
It landed some heavy blows on us and we were really lucky we weren't hurt more seriously than we were.

Kotori's shoulder is still not quite fully healed yet, but it's getting there.

I'm glad you guys got the message we were safe though!

Y-yeah, it didn't give a lot of detail, but I guess they wanted to make sure people couldn't question anyone more than they were already.

Things... were kinda going nuts there for a while.

Yeah... we're still catching up on what happened after the thing at Heartland. From the bits I've heard, things got super bad for a while, huh.

Bad and... kinda weird? Like did you notice the flying island thing now?

Yeah! Kinda difficult to miss it!

That's... gonna take some getting used too.

I suggest if you need to go out, wear hoodies, restyle your hair, wear disguise glasses, and whatever resources you can get, etc.

Or try to use magic???

Er, well, I have plenty of hoodies. Kotori has some too and I'm sure we can find some other stuff to use.

How long do you think we'll have to be in disguise in public?

Hrrm.

Probably until some other big scandal comes up or some absolutely banal news item eats the 24 hour news cycle.

So, basically wait until we're not news anymore?

Oh man, that could take a while.

I might be able to help speed it along but it depends how much my sister is into public humiliation and exhibitionism since she got married.

Ah, well, I don't think we'd want anyone to humiliate themselves on purpose for us or anything!

But if there is a way you can speed it up, it'd be appreciated, cos I don't think we can fully go back to our regular lives until we don't have to worry about being in public and all.

Trust me, she'd enjoy the humiliation.

But I'll see what I can do.
