[STORY]
"What... is this place?"
Floating along, Hope looked around at the darkened area he was in. A large amount of mechanical objects, mostly gears, surrounded him, but he had no idea what the place he was in was, or how he even got there. While inspecting the structure closely, a glowing from the corner of his eye caught his attention. Turning towards it, he could see that it was a card that was suspended in mid-air not far from him.
"Number 66: Master Key Beetle..." Hope said to himself. "... the card that mysterious woman left to Yuma." He floated closer to it. "She called it 'A key that can open all doors' and was given to us as a starting point into finding out the answers both Yuma and I seek."
Stood before it, Hope raised his hand towards the card, but as he did, the glowing card began to transform until it became a distinct curved 'question mark' shape.
"What is this...?!"
The item suddenly began to move away, exploding in a tremendous amount of light. Once the light cleared, Hope witnessed the object attaching itself to what appeared to be the steering wheel of a ship. Looking around through the darkness, he could see that he was now in a different part of the structure; a ships cockpit. Although this was all new to him, the technology and power of the ship felt eerily familiar to him.
As the ship powered up, a holographic green globe appeared with a number of blinking red marks on it. "A map...?" It seemed like the ship was pointing them towards something.
But what?
"Is this ship and the map related to the knowledge Yuma and I are looking for...?" Hope questioned. Either way, this was an important development and one he needed to alert Yuma to straight away.
------------------------------------
As the entire of Duel Academy slept, a sudden dimensional rift began opening up above the harbour of the island. The force of it sent a sudden shockwave out, rocking the island.
"W-W-WHAAA!!"
Yuma yelled as the shock from the tremor woke him up, making him fall from his hammock onto the floor. Yuya also woke up in a similar panic.
"W-what was that?!" he exclaimed loudly, before he looked down at Yuma. "Y-Yuma...?"
Yuma was sat on the floor, looking at the Emperor's Key hung around his neck which was glowing wildly. He then looked up at the desk in the room to see two cards from his deck were also glowing. Quickly Yuma grabbed them, to see that it was Hope and Number 66.
Not wasting any time, Yuma jumped up in a flash and ran out of the door.
"H-Hey! Yuma! Wait up!" Yuya quickly climbed down from the bunk and followed his friend out of the door.
Outside, what awaited them, was a large swirling vortex of clouds and energy in the sky, above the harbour. As the two boys approached the edge of the cliff, near the bridge, Yuma's key shined more brightly than before. It suddenly let out a massive crackle of energy that shot up towards the vortex. This made the vortex explode into bright light, making both boys cover their eyes.
When the light subsided, they looked to see a massive structure coming out from the sky, flying down, almost hitting the bridge as it passed over it, then finally coming down towards the harbour, scrapping the warehouses and helicopter pad as it did.
Both boys just stared at the structure in shock for a few moments afterwards.
"What IS that thing?" Yuya questioned. "It looks like some kind of... airship?"
Yuma had no idea, but what he did know was this 'airship' just seemed to come out of his Emperor's Key.

[EVENT]
*If your character is at Osiris Red, or if they were around late enough, they would of noticed the shockwave and flashes of bright light. Inspecting what's going on will lead them to both Yuma and Yuya by the bridge, looking down at what appears to be a large mechanical airship which is now parked on the helicopter pad on top of the warehouses on the harbour.*

So, how do we find out what the dots are? It'd be kinda dangerous to just go to them without knowing why we're being sent there.

... but we shouldn't just blindly run into something like this...!

The airship used up a lot of energy to move out of the pocket dimension is was being held in. It will take a day before it is ready to move again.
I agree that we need to discover the purpose of these markers on the map before we make any decisions.

Uh, yeah, if it's not going anywhere for a day, then I think at least Professor Wakahisa and Professor Sadame are definitely gonna see it.

Yeah, man. Don't worry! *Yuma turns to them all, leaning on one of the panels he was looking at.*
I'll just talk to them in the morning, tell them the big giant airship is mine, that it's suuuper important and everything will be just fin-

*CLICK - There is a distinct sound of a button clicking from the panel Yuma is leaning on. He looks around and then... panics.*
A-aaah ahhh!! I just pressed a button and I don't know what it does!!

YUMA I SWEAR TO GOD!
[She's panicking too.]

And my problem with the staff is their obsession with hiding everything. Maybe you want to be ignorant, but I want to know about Dark Duels and ancient civilizations and how they're connected to Duel Monsters.
The staff doesn't want us to know.

*Yuya looks around nervously.*
Did the button... do anything?

Yuma, I'm entrusting this message to you, and I hope you're the one listening. I have no idea when or where you are now, or how old you've gotten, but I hope you won't mind listening to your old man's request.
You're something special, kiddo. Especially so, besides being my son. And I hate to ask you to do this, but I need you to take this ship and go to the locations on the globe here...
::Motions vaguely in the direction of the map.::
And gather a group of extremely special Duel Monster cards called "The Legendary Numbers", as my hosts call them. I don't know why, but they seem awfully afraid of a group of beings called the Barians.
The Barians, in so far as I can gather, Yuma, serve as the last major line of defense to protect the "Astrals", from what they call "Daemons". I can't go into much detail at the moment before HE shows up, so I'll keep this simple.
Use this airship I've hijacked and gather as many of the Legendary Numbers as you can, and keep them out of the reach of the Barians, who plan to use them for something that will end in disaster. But also keep them out of the reach of the Astrals. I don't think either group has good plans for these cards, and I don't want to risk letting them get their hands on them.
I'm sorry to ask this, son, but I trust you can get it done, since you're my son, after all.
Kattobing.
::Gives a two fingered salute. Unblip.::

Dad...
*Yuma looks silently and emotionally at where the hologram of his dad was for a moment, as if absorbing the fact that he was there. He eventually lowers his head, wiping his eyes with his arm, taking a small moment.
He then looks up with a huge grin on his face, his fist clenched with determination.*
You can count on me, dad! You can count on all of us! We'll definitely find these Legendary Numbers and stop them from falling into the hands of the Barians or the Astrals!!

*The moment Kazuma's holographic image appeared, Yuya had recognized him straight away from the picture Yuma keeps of his parents in their room. After the message ends, Yuya watches Yuma's reaction, noticing how stunned he was at first, but how happy he seemed after everything had sunken in.
A smile grew on Yuya's face, happy for his friend. All that waiting and all that believing paid off for him in the end. Even if it was just a holographic message, it was something. Something to let him know his dad was out there, somewhere.
And it gave Yuya a lot of hope himself of seeing his own dad again, one day.*

So she puts her arms around Yuma and in a 180 from her earlier cautious outlook, says:] We'll be right here to help you, okay?

::... He seems to feel a strange mix of emotions, kind of disconnected from this. I don't really have this many sympathies for my 'loved ones'. But...::
I'd like to come along too. I want to do something to help someone for once, and I want to know why this ship and everything your father just said keeps giveing me this itching feeling crawling in the back of my mind, Tsukumo.

*Yuma returns Yuzu's hug, before looking around at everyone else, gratefully.*
Guys...
Thank you! I know that we'll definitely be able to do this together, as a team!!

So where are we going first?
::Points to the globe which has markers in China, two in South West/Central America, one in Australia, one in Africa, and one on Antarctica. There's a marker for Europe but it's a purple color vs the other being Red.::

*He then pauses when he notices the different coloured marker.*
...why is one of the markers purple?
